Robert J. Lucas, 89, of Beurys Rd, Ashland, PA passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home. Born in Butler Twp., on November 24, 1928 the son of the late Frederick and Lottie (Kukuk) Lucas. Robert worked as a miner for most of his life until retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He loved woodworking and his two dogs, Jordan and Danny Boy.

He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Anna, William, Roland, Margaret, Barrie, and Frederick. Grandson: Randy.

Surviving are his wife: Lillian (Chickerski) Lucas of Beurys Rd, Ashland, PA. Son: Scott husband of Jean Lucas of Mowry, PA. Daughters: Cheryl Schultz of Locustdale, PA; Roseann Deluca of Gettysburg, PA. Sisters: Geraldine Mervine of Ashland, PA; Nancy Higgins and Betsy Mervine both of Gordan, PA. Grandsons: David Schultz and Kevin Kerner. Great grandson: Quentin Schultz.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 12:00 noon from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Viewing 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

Eva M. Flowers, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was a long-time resident of Highland Falls, New York, before residing in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, over the past two decades. Most recently, she was a resident of Maple Shade Meadows Senior Living in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, for over four years.

Born August 27, 1927 in West Point, New York, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Nebeling) Petersen. She also was predeceased by her husband, Marlin Flowers; brother, Herman Petersen; sister, Madeline Ferguson; and companion, Michael "Mitch" Meck. 

She is survived by her daughter, Arhlene Flowers, and son-in-law, Steven Lovass-Nagy, of Ithaca, New York; her brothers, Alex Petersen, and his wife, Gloria, of Orangeburg, New York, and George Petersen and his wife, Geraldine, of Liberty, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

Eva loved being in the outdoors while partaking in all of nature's gifts. Birdwatching, bingo, crafts and swimming were a few of her favorite things. She cherished the companionship of cats and dogs during her lifetime. She also stayed in close touch with her family and friends.  

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252  

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. Friends may call on the morning of services from 10 a.m. until time of services. 

Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
