Dr. Roy C. Green, 83, of Ashland, PA. passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill-East, Pottsville, PA.

Born in Girardville, PA., February 4, 1935, the son of the late Roy C. and Elva (Brennan) Green.

He was a member of the Girardville United Methodist Church. He received his primary and secondary schooling in the Girardville school district. In 1953, he enrolled in Ursinus College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He matriculated in Hahneman Medical College in 1957, completed his medical training four years later, and was awarded his medical license in 1962 following a year's internship at the Harrisburg Hospital. Dr. Green joined the US Air Force Medical Service in 1963, holding the rank of Captain, and served the bulk of his two year military tour at Albrook Air Force Base in the Panama Canal Zone. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Girardville to open an office in general practice. One year later, he entered the University of Pennsylvania for a two-year residency in Anesthesiology. He was Chief Anesthesiologist at the Good Samaritan Hospital for over 35 years and worked at Pottsville Hospital and St. Catherine Medical Center before retirement. His love of medicine and compassion for helping people in the local commmunity was also the reason he maintained his private practice for over 30 years in Girardville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charity (Portz) in 2004. Also preceding him in death were one son: Jonathan Carter Green in 1970; and 3 sisters: Madge Green, Ruth Humes, and Judy Harner.

He is survived by three sons: Dr. Jason and his wife Robyn Green, Ashland; Douglas Green, Ashland; and Roy C. Green and his wife Stacie Green, Ashland. 6 Grandchildren: Jonathan, Carter, Emma, Charity, Rachel, and Jake.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Skyview Memorial Park, Hometown, PA.

C. Charles "Charlie" Brennan, Jr., 77, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, August 23rd, at his residence.

Born on August 12, 1941, a son of the late Mary Alice (Somers) Brennan and Claude Charles Brennan, Sr.

He was the widower of Doris E. (Reppert) Brennan.

Charlie was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and was employed by the former Agway Petroleum. He was a member of the Anthracite Gun Club, Tremont Clubsters and a volunteer referee for the Schuylkill Haven Midget Football Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and babysitting his grandsons. He could always be found at Josie's, Site's and Bruce Werner's. His children considered him to be the "Mayor" of Schuylkill Haven, because so many people knew him.

Charlie is survived by his children Colleen Butler wife of Tim, Pine Grove, Shannon Stine, Orwigsburg and Michael Brennan husband of Jessica, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren Gavin, Logan, Kenneth, Jackson, Declan and Greyden; sister Sandra Spotts wife of James, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. , Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 28th,with Certified Celebrant Rebecca Devlin officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be heldTuesday 9:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In honor of his late wife Doris, the family request donations to Alzheimer's Association, South Central PA Chapter ,3544 N. Progress Avenue,Suite 205 Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park Schuylkill Haven.

Madeleine G. Andrusichen, age 72, of Mahanoy City, died Wednesday morning at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation in Frackville. 

Born in France she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Cholly) Wycheck. She was a 1966 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and was a member of St. Paul's UCC of Mahanoy City. Survivors include her husband of 39 years Paul, sons Jason and Christopher Andrusichen, Owen and Eric Berezwick, and daughters Patricia Sriram, Michelle Hudock and Angela Berezwick and several grandchildren and nieces. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Tuesday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. The Rev. Craig Zimmerman will officiate. Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday beginning at 10 AM.

Mary Catherine Stakem, 90, of Williamstown, passed away Friday at the Bridges of Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg.

Born in Muir, February 28,1928, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Vena Neyer Sullivan.

Mary Catherine was a graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School.

She was retired from the Commonwealth of PA, where she worked for the Williamstown Unemployment Office as a Claims Specialist.

She is a life member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, where she was a former president, and a social member of the Williamstown American Legion. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Stakem Sr., 2005; 2 sisters, Marian Feaster and Veronica Kanish.

Surviving are two sons, John P. Stakem, Harrisburg and Thomas M. Stakem, Jr., Williamstown; two daughters, Karen M. Liddick (George) and Catherine M. Enderline (Robert) both of Mechanicsburg; three grandsons, Matthew Sweigart, Shawn and Ryan Enderline; Two great granddaughters, Emma and Abby Sweigart One brother, Thomas Sullivan (Lois), Mechanicsburg, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, August 29th at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown with Rev. Michael Opoki, as celebrant.
