State Police Investigate Possible Shawn Christy Sighting in Rush Township Overnight


An investigation is ongoing after a possible Shawn Christy sighting overnight.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton, on Thursday, August 23rd at approximately 10:00 PM, State Troopers responded to Ben Titus Road, in the area of the Still Creek Tavern, at the Carbon / Schuylkill County border, for a reported Burglary.

Upon speaking with the Victim, he believed the Actor to be Shawn Christy. When confronted, he claimed to be homeless and was looking for food. The Actor then fled the residence towards a wooded area.

A search of the area was and is still being conducted consisting of multiple Law Enforcement Agencies.

The suspect was described as wearing blue jeans, an olive drab “military style” t-shirt with a red baseball hat and a thick “bushy” beard.

If Christy is observed, he is to be considered armed and dangerous – do not approach and contact 911 immediately - do not delay in calling.

Any and all suspicious activity should immediately be reported to Police by contacting 911.
