Former Ashland Hospital Campus For Sale Again

After some promising work over the past few years, the former Ashland Hospital property is for sale again.

The present day facility that stands as the former Ashland Hospital in Butler Township opened in 1967 and was built as the Ashland State General Hospital.  A first for Schuylkill County.

In 1992, the property was divested by the state and became the Ashland Regional Medical Center after the state sold it.
In May 2006, the property was sold again to Saint Catherine's Hospital of Pennsylvania.

In March 2015, the St. Catherine's Hospital property was sold to Ashland Properties, an affiliate of San Clemente, California-based Sovereign Health Group for $550,000 after Saint Catherine Hospital of Pennsylvania, filed for bankruptcy.

According to a report from the Republican Herald at the time, Sovereign planned to use the facility to handle mental health and substance abuse treatment.

For over 3 years, the building underwent a major infrastructure upgrade, including a new boiler system, roofing, sprinkler system, and other work.

Recently, the property went back up for sale again.

Bennett Williams Commercial is the commercial realtor selling the property with the current price set at $1.5 Million.

The property is advertised as being on 20.7 acres with 4 buildings, 285 parking space and a helipad.
