Genevieve (Jean) Mary Woods - It is with great sadness that the family of Genevieve (Jean) Mary Woods announces her passing on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

She was a longtime resident in Tom's River, NJ. More recently, she was in Shore Meadows Rehab and subsequently passed away in Community Medical Center, Toms River NJ.

Jean was born in Girardville, PA on January 9, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Tierney) Woods. She graduated from Girardville High School.

She is survived by her brother Joseph Woods, Bradenton, FL, several nieces and nephews, Joseph Woods (Eileen), North Plainfield, NJ; Bob Woods, La Mesa, CA; Alice French (David), Bradenton, FL; Karen Guerin, CA; Jim (Janet)Butler, Holland, Northampton Township, PA; Susan Butler, Seaside Park NJ; Barbara Ross (Bill) Centreville, VA and Bonita Springs FL; Claire Karlicek (Bob), Mechanicville, NY.

Jean was predeceased by her brothers, Tom Woods and Jackie Woods and her sister Eileen Butler. She was also predeceased by nephews and nieces Dan Woods, Pat Freitag, and Anne Schultz. Additionally she had many loving grand nieces and nephews.

Jean was employed at Eastern airlines and later as a customer representative for L'Oréal USA and Linde Corporation. In retirement, she was a school bus monitor. Jean enjoyed traveling with friends and dancing.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, 901 Centre St., Ashland, PA for friends and family from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs, PA. Rev. Paul Rothermel will officiate. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of

Ernest Joseph Adzentoivich, 49, passed away Aug. 13, 2018 after a lengthy illness at Sarotaga, CA. while staying with relatives after being discharged from Stanford Medical Center, San Jose, CA.

Ernest was born in Pottsville, Pa. April 23, 1969, son of Ernest & Maryann Adzentoivich, formally of New Boston, currently living in Las Vegas, NV. He is a 1987 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. He attended Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA., graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. After graduation, he remained in the Boston area studying acoustic bass guitar under Leigh Mesh, Assistant Principal of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and John Stovall, Boston Symphony

Orchestra. He also had additional instruction from Ran Blake and Gunther Schuller. In 2008 he was the recipient of the Henry Mancini Music Scholarship from the ASCAP Foundation.

As the proprietor of Adzentoivich Music for 20 years, he was a composer and music engineer for high profile clients as Dead & Company, Fall Out Boy, Cherry Lane Music, and Burnham Murray.

Ernest was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church, Mahanoy City.

He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Lee Wood, twin sons Vladimir & Waylon, and Silas all of Culver City, CA. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Vincent Crosby in 2017 of Warminster.

Relatives include Aunts Frances Crosby of Frackville, Mary Crosby of Warminster, PA, & Susan Opanel, Warminster. Also several cousins.

Friends and family may call Saturday October 6th, 2018 from 11:30am to 2:30pm. A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Deacon David J. Henninger officiating.

Kermit J. Deitrich, 88, of Pitman, and a resident of Providence Place in Pine Grove passed away Monday, October 1, 2018.

Kermit was born in Eldred Township, on April 13, 1930, a son of the late Katie (Snyder) and Felix Deitrich.

He was preceded in death by his wife of Pauline M (Harring) Deitrich, who passed away August 17, 2001.

He was a graduate of the Hegins Township High School and served as a Cook in the US Army.

He was employed as a mill operator at the former Agway in Klingerstown.

Kermit was a member of St. Paul's E.C. Church and played on its softball team. He was also a member of the Mahantongo Fire Company.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching sports.

Kermit is survived by two daughters, Skye L. Edling, of Hegins; and Teah L., wife of John Motsney, of Ashland; a son,Tori L., husband of Christine Deitrich, of Hegins; four grandchildren, Justin Edling, Kimberly Blesse, Kelly Deitrich and Ethan Motsney; two step grandchildren, John Motsney and Adam Motsney. Two Great Grandchildren Landon and Parker Blesse; two sisters, Ruby Zerbe and Orpha Troutman; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Leonard Deitrich and Kenneth "Drum" Deitrich, and a sister Daisy Ely.

Viewing will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 10-11 AM at St. Paul's E.C. Church Pitman, where the funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Todd Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Joseph Michael Schasney, 96, died August 11, 2018 in Greensburg, Indiana. Born March 16, 1922, in Lansford, PA, he was a son of the late Rudolf and Ursula (nee Gulla) Schasney.

Joseph attended St. Michael Catholic School, Lansford, and was a member of that parish. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II, he married Margaret "Peg" Zukuskie on July 1, 1950, in Tamaqua, PA. Joseph and his family later moved to Newton Falls, Ohio, where they lived for many years.

Surviving are a sister, Agnes Mikulski of Lansford; a brother, Rudolf Schasney Jr. of Union, New Jersey; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Schasney of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Jill, wife of David Fuel, and Thomas Schasney and his wife, Sarah of Greensburg; and four great-grandchildren, Cole Fuel, Hannah Fuel, Landen Fuel, and Ronnie Elliott, all of Greensburg.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peg; a son, Paul; five sisters, Ann Nobile, Helen Schasney, Marie Benack, Verna Stromelo, and Milly Schasney; and two brothers, Steve and Paul Schasney.

Burial with graveside services and military honors will take place at 10 AM on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA.

Anthony C. Gustis, 62, Pottsville, passed away Sunday at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, February 29, 1956, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Petrosky) Gustis.

He was a graduate from Penn State University obtaining a Bachelor of Sociology. Anthony worked for Hexcel Corporation, St. Clair for several years.

He enjoyed motorcycles and had a passion for woodwork.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Gustis.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Maria S. (Zhevagina) Gustis; son, Alex Gustis; daughter, Nina Gustis; brother, Bernard Gustis; and sisters, Alice DeMaio, Anna M. Schneider, Madeline Gustis, and Dorothy DiChiara.

Funeral Services will be held 12PM Friday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 10AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Earl Drey, Jr., 80, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, October 1, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill-East, Pottsville.

Earl was born in Pottsville on July 11, 1938, a son of the late Dorothy May (Yeich) and Earl Daniel Drey.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked in shipping and receiving at Union Knitting Mill.

Earl is survived by a daughter, Shirley, wife of Dale Reigle and a son,Timothy Earl Drey as well as a sister Nancy, widow of Wilbur Gehrig.

Services are private at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Schuylkill Haven American Legion in Earl's memory.
