Tara Leigh Zaharick, 47, former Gordon resident, passed away Thursday, September 27th, at her residence in Washington, Pennsylvania. Born at the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, October 15, 1970, she is the daughter of Terry and Deborah Long Stine. Tara was a graduate of the North Schuylkill High School, class of 1988, after high school she was employed as clerk at the former Schuylkill Mall, Frackville, and as a pharmacy technician at the Rite Aid store in Ashland. She served as a councilwomen on the Gordon Borough Council, and was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland. She was a loving housewife and mother.

Janet M. Butz, 87, of Orwigsburg, formerly of Cressona, passed away Tuesday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville, Sept. 3, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Owens and Kenneth Berger.

She was the widow of Kenneth W. Butz.

She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona, and the Cressona Order of the Eastern Star 367. She served as past matron from 1960-61. She was active with the Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens.

Janet was a graduate of Cressona High School, Class of 1949.

She is survived by her sons, Keith R. Butz, husband of Kathy, Cressona, and Kerry R. Butz and companion, Maria, Dillsburg; grandchildren, Corinne, Brian, Jeffrey and Shaun; great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Shane, Jamison, Kyle and JJ; sisters, Doris Daubert, wife of Wilfred, Cressona, and Judy Sowinski, New Jersey.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with Pastor Kevin Fruchtl officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Cressona Cemetery, Cressona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Mark's UCC, 30 Pottsville St., Cressona, PA 17929.

Bertha I. Reichert, 97, of Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.

Born on December 13, 1920 in Ravine, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Carrie M. Yorty Zimmerman.

Bertha worked in the kitchen at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven.

She was a member of the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren in Pine Grove, the former Mary E. Moore Chapter No. 372 Order of the Eastern Star in Pine Grove, Cressona Chapter No. 367 Order of the Eastern Star, Pine Grove Senior Citizens and Weight Watchers.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Garfield G. Reichert; two great grandchildren, Hannah Levan and Kyle Umbenhauer; 7 sisters, Lucy Beach, Annie Heffner, Beulah Wise, Alma Butler, Florence Reichert, Edna Zimmerman, Miriam Beach, 7 brothers, Warren, Andrew, Roy, Clayton, Edwin, Ralph, and Howard Zimmerman.
Surviving are four sons, Garfield G. Reichert, Jr. of Jonestown, Milton H. Reichert, Ralph R.and wife Lucille Reichert, Dale L. and wife Ann Reichert, all of Pine Grove; 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren; a sister, Jennie Ross of Hummelstown.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, 347 Sweet Arrow Lake Rd., Pine Grove with Pastor Richard Hoffman and Steve Ginder officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to either the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, 347 Sweet Arrow Lake Rd. Pine Grove, PA 17963, or the Brethren in Christ Church, 219 N. Pine St. Tremont, PA 17981 in her memory.

Dante M. Taglieri, 90, of Minersville, passed away on Wednesday at Tremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Minersville, he was a son of the late Cesare and Adelina Eramo Taglieri. He was a 1946 graduate of Minersville High School and worked in the local mining industry. He was well known for his work in concrete construction and finishing.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville.

Dante enjoyed his numerous trips to Carrito, Italy, the hometown of his late parents.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Marie Nichael, on February 8, 2002; a sister, Dora Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Dronick Whiteash, to whom he was married for fourteen years; two children, Joseph Taglieri (spouse, Patricia), West West Terrace, and Margaret “Peg” Popalis (spouse, John), Ringtown; three grandchildren, Douglas Taglieri, Christopher Popalis and Elise Popalis; two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by seven siblings, Carmine Taglieri, Lena Sokola, Mary Bowers, Dena Shapella, Anna Taglieri, Barbara Roesch and Julius Taglieri; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call St. Michael the Archangel Church, 541 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:50 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11.00 A.M. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Minersville. Dutcavich Funeral Home has charge.

Josephine Drazenovich, 92, of Minersville, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday at The Gardens at York Terrace.

Born in Mount Laffee, New Castle Township, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Benzulak Novotny. She attended Mount Laffee School, and worked in the local garment industry, including Minersville Dress Company and Fran’s Lingerie.

She was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville, and the Women’s Sodality. She was also a member of the ILGWU.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Drazenovich, on January 27, 2002. She was the last of eighteen children.

Josephine is survived by two sons, including Mark Drazenovich, at home; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 6:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville. Interment will in St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery, Branch Township. The family prefers contributions to St. Matthew the Evangelist Church.

Doris E. Neifert, 87 years of age, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Center in Lehighton.

Born Thursday, March 26, 1931 in Andreas, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Andreas and the late Beulah German Andreas.
Doris was also predecceased by; son, Craig Neifert, sisters, Hilda Troxell. Fern Haberman, Grace Steigerwalt, Marion Fritz; brothers, Mark and James Andreas.

Surviving are; daughters, Sharon Augustine and her husband, George of New Ringgold, Barbara Bachert and her husband, Dennis of Port Charlotte, FL,; two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
