William F. Wallace, 76, of Thompson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the former Catherine “Kay” Metzinger, to whom he was married to for 54 years.

Born and raised in Ashland, son of the late William H. and Catherine A. Edwards Wallace, Bill attended Milton College in Wisconsin. He received his graduate degree in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Bill was employed as the Manager of Product Technology and Services for Exxon-Mobil in Edison, New Jersey. William and Kay moved to East Brunswick, N.J. where they lived for 27 years and made many dear friends. While residing in East Brunswick, Bill was an active member of the BPO Elks. Bill was a lifelong member in the Boy Scouts of America, where he was Scoutmaster of Troop #103, and member of the Snuffy Hollow Camporee Committee. Bill is an Eagle Scout and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award. He was a parishioner of Nativity Lutheran Church, East Brunswick, NJ.

After retirement, Bill moved to Thompson, where he and Kay found their “Mountain Top Ranch” and an embracing community of friends. Bill was passionate about Thompson Toddlers, a program serving children and their families in the local community. Bill was also a member of the Freedom Lodge #328 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Thompson. He was a parishioner at Thompson Methodist Church.

Bill was a devoted father to his two sons: William E. Wallace and his wife Kelli, Whitehouse Station, NJ; and Michael D. Wallace and his wife Chris, Midland Park, NJ. He was a very special Poppy to four grandchildren: Samantha, Billy, Jessica and Emily. He was the dear brother of Edward J. Wallace and his wife Jean; and dear uncle to: Rosemarie Millicent, Jack Broderick, Edward W. Wallace, Bryon Wallace, and Walter Wallace. He was also the beloved great-uncle to many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane Broderick.

The funeral will be Saturday, October 6th, with services at 2 pm in the Thompson Methodist Church, 586 Main Street, Thompson. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 14th from 2 to 5 pm at the Whitehouse Fire Company No. 1, 271 Main Street, Whitehouse Station, NJ. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.

Mary Teresa Litchko, 78, of Ashland, PA passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 peacefully with her husband of 60 years by her side at Broad Mt. Nursing & Rehab., Frackville, PA.

Born in Centralia, PA on May 24, 1940 the daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (Washeko) McGinley.

Mary Teresa was a graduate of St. Ignatius School, Centralia and Ashland School of Nursing. She worked as a seamstress at the Centralia dress factory for many years. She was a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, Centralia. She enjoyed time with family and Notre Dame football.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Patrick, Anthony, Charles, Francis, and James McGinley.

Surviving are her husband: Wesley Litchko of Ashland, PA. Children: Teresa wife of Scott Moses of Lavelle, PA; Rosemary wife of Michael Postick of Ft. Springs, PA; Wesley husband of Tonya Litchko of Mt. Carmel, PA; Stephen Litchko of Ashland, PA. Brother: Joseph McGinley of Kulpmont, PA. Grandchildren. Great grandsons. Nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Assumption B.V.M Church, Centralia at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 8, 2018 with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Interment at Assumption B.V.M Cemetery, Centralia. A Prayer Service will be held Sunday, October 7, at 6:00 PM at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland. Viewing Sunday, October 7, 6:00-8:00 PM and Monday, October 8, 9:30-10:30 AM at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Assumption B.V.M. Church, South Center St. Aristes, PA 17920.

Nicholas (“Nick”) J. Borzak, 80, Frackville, passed away on Thursday at Broad Mountain Nursing Home after a brief illness. The family would like to thank the nursing home for their excellent care and compassion.

Born in the former Ashland State Hospital, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Bernotas) Borzak. Nick was a graduate of Frackville High School where he met his wife, the former Ruth Moser. They were married for 60 years.

Nick is also survive by four sons: Douglas, Frackville, Nicholas and his wife Jessica, Bozeman, MT, Brian and his wife Suzanne, Allentown, and Brent and his wife Ashley, Frackville. Nick is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Drula, Melbourne, FL and Janet Harper, Frackville, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Borzak.

Nick was a proud US Marine. After discharge, his family moved back to Frackville where Nick coached the Dolphins mini football team and the Elks Little League baseball team.

Nick retired as Frackville borough supervisor and then served as Mayor of Frackville from 2002 until 2006.

Nick dedicated his life to his family and community. He served as a police officer for both West Mahanoy Township and Frackville Borough. A devoted sports fan, Nick cheered for Mount Carmel football, the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. He was very close to his furry grand-dog, Bradi. Nick was an avid outdoorsman and loved wildlife. He dedicated his life to fitness and weightlifting and all remember his unbelievable feats of strength.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to an animal rescue of your choice.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

Dennis Patrick Lally, 62, of West Main Street, Girardville, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Ashland on July 26, 1956, he was a son of Ann Marie “Sissy” (Chuplis) Lally, Lost Creek, and late James M. “Van” Lally Sr.

He was a 1974 graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs.

On May 29, 1976, in the former St. Mary Magdalen Church, Lost Creek, he married the former Susan A. Hancock, who survives.

Dennis along with his wife were the owners and operators of Sueden Trucking, Girardville. He was devoted to his business and worked every day of the week. If he was not driving the trucks, he was most likely repairing them.

He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah. Dennis was an avid camper and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends at Ideal Park Campground. In addition to being a car enthusiast, he had many motorcycles that he enjoyed riding. However, his family was of most importance to him, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James M. Lally Jr., his father-in-law, Leo Hancock, and his brother-in-law, Martin Hancock.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Ann Marie “Sissy” Lally, and his wife of over 42 years, Susan A. Lally, are two daughters, Dana M. Lally and her fiance, Scott Stockunas, Mahanoy Plane, and Deanna P. Lally and her fiance, Justin Monaghan, Frackville; three grandchildren, Landon, Aubrie and Ryan Monaghan; two sisters, Rosaire Miller and her husband, Raymond, Lost Creek, and Kayte Lally, Lansdale; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hancock, Girardville; two sisters-in-law, Christine Kaleda and her husband, Joseph, Reading, and Cheryl Ann Semanchick and her husband, Ted, Girardville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his pet dogs, Baby Brother and Jazebelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 9 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.
