One Injured When Two Tractor Trailers Collide on Interstate 81 Crash in Frailey Township

A truck driver was injured in a crash in Frailey Township on Interstate 81 Tuesday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 10:15am when Gary Shaver, 49, of Albemarle, NC was travelling north on Interstate 81 in a Kenworth Tractor Trailer in the area of Milemarker 110.5.

A work zone had the left lane closed in the area crash and Victor Ceban, 27, of Orlando, FL in a Freightliner Tractor Trailer was stopped in the right lane for traffic that was stopped in front of him.

Police say Shaver did not see that traffic was stopped and ran into the rear of Ceban.  Shaver came to a rest on the right shoulder and Ceban was pushed forward and came to a rest.

Shaver was trapped in the cab of his truck for almost an hour due to being heavily entrapped.  He was later transported to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Ceban was not injured in the crash.

Assisting State Police at the scene were the Minersville Fire and EMS, Donaldson Fire Company, Tremont Fire Company, and PennDOT.

Interstate 81 Northbound was closed for almost 2 hours while the scene was cleared.
