Sonia Troutman, 84, of Ashland, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville, PA.
Born in Butler Township, PA, October 29, 1934 the daughter of the late Max and Mary ( Lustanick) Marhon. She attended Butler Twp High School. She worked at various Garment Factories and worked for Ashland Sportswear for 17 years, then bartended at the Ashland VFW until retirement. She was a member of the Ladys Auxilliary of Ashland Post 7654 and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Troutman, December 15, 1984; and a son Randy Troutman Sr., July 4, 2017. Also preceding her in death were 7 brothers: Elias; Metro; Frank; Andrew; Michael; John: and Paul; and 4 sisters: Anna; Mary; Helen; and Julia.
Surviving are 2 sons and 2 daughters: Darlene Rogers and her husband Bill, Mahanoy City; Robert Troutman Sr. and his wife Ginny, Wilburton; Barbara Pennypacker and her husband Allen, Mowry; and Kenneth Troutman and his wife Lori, Wilburton; One daughter in law, Donna Troutman, Ashland. 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two sisters: Eva Beekley, Stowe, PA; and Dolores Lesher, Taylorsville.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:30 P.M. at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland with Rev. Jeremy Smallwood officiating. Interment in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs at the convenience of the family.
Viewing Saturday 1:30-3:30 P.M at the funeral home.

Debra A. Smith, 64, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Pottsville, on July 11, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy Lovelick and Michael Cooper.

She was the wife of Robert L. Smith Jr., to whom she was married 46 years.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Debra was the front end manager at Boyer's IGA for 28 years in Schuylkill Haven and Orwigsburg.

She was a 1972 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

Debra was a loving, selfless mother and grandmother. She loved her family and friends and was very thankful for their relationships. She enjoyed blueberry pancakes at Robin's Diner. She persevered through many health hardships. She received a kidney transplant from her husband, Bob. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Deb's doctors Dr. Yang and Dr. Groff for their care.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Bryan Smith, husband of Christine, Bethlehem; grandsons, Alexander, Nicholas and Matthew; brothers, Kenneth Cooper, Pottsville, and Michael Cooper, Allentown; sister-in-law, Debra Knoll, wife of Thomas, Elmira, N.Y.; aunt, Gerry Pron, wife of Peter, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family requests donations to PinnacleHealth Transplant Associates, 205 S. Front St., Eighth floor, Harrisburg, PA 17104.

Patricia A. McGovern, 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday peacefully at Orwigsburg Center.

Patricia was born in Schuylkill Haven, Dec. 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Mary Carr and Paul James.

She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1954.

Patricia had been a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and Landingville Fire Company.

She was employed as a clerk at Brok-Sel Markets, Schuylkill Haven, from the time of their

opening until her retirement.

She was also employed by Plain & Fancy Donut Shop, Schuylkill Haven.

Patricia was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Francis Dukmen, who passed away in September 2018; a daughter, Michele "Mitzi" Moyer; two sisters, Rose Zubris and Marietta Wallace.
Patricia is survived by a daughter, Mary "Molly" Trumbo, wife of Keith, Landingville. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shelby Trumbo, Johnathan Trumbo, Janel Aungst and Jennifer Hinkle; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor James Fidler officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be private at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, at a later date.

A. Joyce (Merritt) Crosland, 81, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully, on November 15, 2018, at Tremont Health and Rehab Center.

Born in Newburgh, NY, April 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Merrit and Ruth (Hughes) Kapshock.

Joyce volunteered at the Good Sam Hospital for several years. She enjoyed painting and collecting her ceramics.

She married the love of her life, Leonard Crosland on July 3, 1963

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth McNeal, Louise Przyblek, and Sharon McCoy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leonard Crosland, Pottsville, sons, David Crosland, Pottsville, Thomas Crosland, Pottsville, and Daniel Crosland, Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, great grandson, Max, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Pastor Diefenderfer, chaplain with Compassionate Care Hospice will be officiating. Family and friends may call from 10AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Bethany Lynn (Handwerk) Petrich, 35, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 12, 2018.

Born in Palmerton, PA on November 22, 1982, she was the daughter of Don and Gail (Loch) Handwerk.

Bethany was a graduate from Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing, Pottsville earning her RN Degree. She later attained her BSN from Walden University. She was employed Reading Hospital and previously employed by Pottsville Hospital.

Bethany loved to hunt and fish. She also enjoyed music and played the trumpet and guitar. Bethany enjoyed spending time with her son, Ryan, he was her best buddy.

She married her wife, the love of her life on May 27, 2014, Jennifer Joy Petrich.

In addition to her wife and parents she was survived by her son, Ryan Daub, Auburn; sisters, LeAnn Motz and her husband Christopher, Heather Reifsnyder and her husband Corey, niece Gabriella, nephews, Casey and Travis, and aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2PM-4PM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends will be welcomed to share their remembrance at 4PM.

Janet L. Frederick, 84, of Williamstown, passed away Friday morning at her home.

Born in Landingville, March 3, 1934 a daughter of the late George and Helena Deibert Schwenk.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School.

Janet was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco.

Janet's life revolved around her family, they meant the world to her. She enjoyed traveling and doing cryptograms.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob "Jake" Frederick; three sons, Chris Shutt and his wife Janette, Williamstown; Gene Shutt and his wife Annette, Tower City and Scott Frederick and his wife Jessica, New Bloomfield. Six grandchildren, Brooke, Marissa, Tiffany, Mallory, Alyssa and Alexander; one sister, Joyce Sponsler, Tower City; one brother, Floyd Schwenk, Lykens. Nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15th at 10:30 am from the Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Lori Betsworth and Pastor Annette Shutt. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 at the church. Memorial donations in Janet's name should be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O.
