Tamaqua's Spirit of Christmas Starts Thursday Evening

Help ring in Tamaqua's Spirit of Christmas weekend on Thursday evening.


The weekend long event will kick off Thursday with an Outdoor Christmas Market at Tink's Antiques, located at 28 S. Railroad Street from 6:00pm until 8:00pm

Other local stores will reopen later with strolling carolers in the streets as well.

The Tamaqua Historical Society will also hold an open house from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.  Schroeder Family Farms will be selling wreaths outside the Historical Society.

On Friday, Tamaqua will welcome Santa to town with a parade at 6:00pm.  After the parade Santa and Mrs. Claus will light Depot Square along with the 2018 Little Miss Spirit of Christmas, Chloe Jones.

A Santa Pet Parade will also be held with registered participants being judged after the parade.

If you want to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, they will be at the Community Arts Center after the parade.

A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Community Arts Center at 7:30pm.

On Saturday, the Tamaqua Rotary will sponsor a Breakfast with Santa at the Salvation Army at 8:00am.  The vent is $6 per person.

A free kids craft will be held at the Community Arts Center from 10:00am until 1:00pm.

A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Community Arts Center at 7:30pm.

On Sunday, a Christmas Carol will be performed at the Community Arts Center at 3:00pm. 

The borough Christmas Tree lighting will take place at 6:00pm.  Hot chocolate and cookies will be available at the Tamaqua Community Ambulance garage after the tree lighting.
