Barnesville Man Found in Possession of Dozens of Bags of Heroin in Hazleton

A Barnesville man was found with dozens of bags of heroin earlier this week in Hazleton.


According to Hazleton Police, on December 19, 2018, around noon, police received an anonymous call regarding a drug transaction in the area of Hanover Court and 17th Street.

Hazleton Patrol Units immediately responded and flooded the area. The individual fitting the description and a Gold Jeep out of Barnsville, PA were located by officers E. Hernandez and J. Keller. Officer Eric Hernandez stopped the one individual outside of the vehicle on foot who was in possession of approximately 80 bags of Heroin and placed him in custody without incident. 

The suspect was identified as Austin James Didgen, 23, of Barnsville, PA.

Didgen was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia. Didgen is on probation, being violated and turned over to Schuylkill County Probation.
