Two Charged with Assaulting Game Warden Over the Weekend

Two men were charged for the assault of a game warden over the weekend.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, Wade Winemiller, 57, of Wrightsville, PA and Thomas Kelly Jr., 57, of Stewartstown, PA were charged for the incident.

Both have been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, resisting arrest, simple assault, and other charges.

Winemiller was arraigned on Monday, December 3rd, 2018 before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker with bail set at $150,000 and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.

Kelly was arraigned on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko with bail set at $150,000 and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.

State Police say the incident took place at approximately 10 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018.

The warden was assaulted during a law enforcement contact in Norwegian Twp. on the Grande Hunter Access Property along Peach Mountain Rd. near Saint Clair. 

The warden encountered two individuals unlawfully operating ATVs on lands closed to motor vehicle use. During the vehicle stop the suspects attacked the warden. 

They then fled the scene in the direction of Arnots Addition.
