Ashland Police File Charges Against Man and Woman for Retail Theft; One Arrested on Warrants

The Ashland Police Department has filed charges against a man and woman for stealing from a supermarket in Ashland.

According to Police Chief Gerard Daley, on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019, around 2:00pm, police were called to the Boyer's Supermarket in Ashland for a retail theft.

When police arrived, workers told police that a male came into the store, stole a cell phone charger worth $8.99, then returned a short time later and tried to return it.

Police investigated and determined a woman was also with the suspect.  Daley was able to identify the two as Carol Talanca, 36, and Edward Barnes, 42, both of Ashland.

Daley filed charges for theft for both.

The next day, January 9, 2019, around 12:00pm, Ashland Police were notified that both were in Boyer's Supermarkets again.

Talanca was taken into custody warrants from the Schuylkill County District Office as well as the Columbia County Sheriff's office.
