District Court Office in Frackville Closed Monday Due to Unknown Odor

An unknown odor has closed the Schuylkill County District Court Office in Frackville on Monday.


After 10:00am, Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale's Office was evacuated after an unknown odor was discovered in the building.

Frackville Police and Friendship Fire (Englewood) arrived and evacuated the building.  Pennsylvania State Police, Butler Township Police, and Ashland Police were also at the scene.

Roughly 20 people were in the building at the time of the discovery.

Just after 11:00am, the office was officially closed for the remainder of Monday while the odor was investigated.

The office is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
