2018 Wettest Year on Record in Pennsylvania

On Monday, the National Weather Service announced that 2018 was the wettest year on record in Pennsylvania.


Last year, after numerous rain events that lasted days and even prompted a State of Emergency by Governor Wolfe,  the final totals broke all records.

The normal amount of rainfall for Pennsylvania is recorded as 42.50 inches, but in 2018, the NWS record 63.97".

The 2nd wettest year on record was recorded in 2011 when the NWS recorded 61" of rainfall.

The NWS also announced that from January 2017 through December 2018, it was the most rainfall ever recorded within a 2 year (24 Month) time period.
