Funds Announced to Repair Deteriorated Highway in Kline Township

Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill) and Representative Jerry Knowles (R-Schuylkill) announced a grant on Monday from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) that will finance repairs to 13 sections of deteriorated highway in Kline Township.

The numerous improvements to local roadways supported by the grant will address a variety of safety concerns for motorists and pedestrians.

“These upgrades will play a big role in making travel safer throughout the township, not only for daily residential, commercial, and industrial traffic, but also for walkers, joggers, bicyclists and others who share the benefits of the local transportation infrastructure,” Argall said.

“This funding to make much-needed repairs to our local roadways is just another example of how Act 89 is making our communities better and safer places to live, work and get around,” Knowles said. “I commend everyone at Kline Township for all of their hard work to obtain this $211,667 grant to make improvements to local roadways making them safer for pedestrians, joggers, bicyclists, and drivers that us these highways daily.”

The $211,667 grant was awarded as part of PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund grant program.
