Police Seize Cocaine and Handgun After Distrubance


Pottsville Police seized cocaine and a handgun after being called to a disturbance on Wednesday.


According to Chief Richard Wojiechowsky, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at approximately 12:00pm, Pottsville Police were dispatched by County Communications to the 300 block of West Race St. for a reported disturbance.

During the course of the investigation into the disturbance at 325 W. Race Street police found probable cause to obtain a search warrant for that residence.

During the search of the property investigators seized a loaded .380 caliber Kel-Tec semi-automatic handgun, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Ptlm Joseph Krammes completed a criminal complaint charging Kason Brown, 28, with Felony Possession of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Brown was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale who set bail at $75,000 and was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.
