Catherine L. Bolton, 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, March 2nd, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Catherine was born on May 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Lillie (Christ) and Oscar Bolton.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregation Church, Schuylkill Haven, PA.

She was employed as a Nurse at the office of Dr. Herbert Rubright, Sr., where she worked until retirement.

Catherine was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1948. She went on to study nursing at Jefferson School of Nursing, Philadelphia, graduating in 1951.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by siblings: Margaret Bolton, June Bolton, Therald Bolton, and Charlotte Stiles.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Gretta M. Sanner,95,passed away Saturday, March 2, at the Highlands, Wyomissing.

Born Oct. 16, 1923 in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Margaret (Timmins) Baney. She graduated from Minersville High School in 1941 and received a nursing degree from Hahnemann Medical College in 1945.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ ,Pottsville ,where she had been a Sunday school teacher , did volunteer work at the American Red Cross local blood banks and was a past member of the Board of Directors at the Y.W.C.A.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry E. Sanner in 2001 and her son Dr. Frederick C. Sanner in 2013.

Surviving are a son, Harry E. SannerJr., Chester, MA. and a daughter Susan L. Fraser, Oley, PA.,11 grandchildren , 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Neary, age 92 of Pottsville, died March 1, 2019, at The Gardens at York Terrace.

Born in Excelsior, PA, Elizabeth was the daughter of Peter and Anna (Suchanick) Goguts.

She was a graduate of Coal Township High School and Temple University, and she also attended New York University in New York.
Elizabeth was a member of the World War II Cadet Nurse Corps and Women in Service.

She was employed as a registered nurse at the former Good Samaritan Medical Center for more than 40 years, and was an active participant in the Harvard Nurses Health Study since its inception in 1976.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Patrick’s R.C.C. in Pottsville and its senior group, and often volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Drive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Neary, Sr., on January 18, 2008, and to whom she was married 57 years; and six siblings.

Survivors include her daughters: Nancy Griffin (Michael), Southampton, PA; Margaret Brown (Don), Camp Hill, PA; Jane Spehrley (Jim), Pottsville, PA; Maryann Neary-Gill (John), Richmond, VA; her son, Joseph Neary, Jr. (Dee), Dayton, KY; and grandchildren: Lisa Stormont, Sara Griffin, Mary Griffin, Harrison Gill, Martha Gill, Jennifer Spehrley, and James (JJ) Spehrley; one great-granddaughter: Brielle Stormont; nephews, nieces and cousins.

A memorial mass in Elizabeth's honor will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00a.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Msgr. Edward J. O'Connor officiating.

A visitation with the family will be held in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Internment will be held at Transfiguration Cemetery, Coal Township, at the family’s discretion.

Brian L. Miller, 64, of Manor Rd., Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.

Born on January 31, 1955 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Marlin Sr. and Helen Lipinsky Miller.
He was in the Air Force Reserves and was a member of Reedsville Bethesda EC Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Brian was a Truck Driver, sales associate, worked for Miller Surplus in Pa. and Hock Building Material in Cressona. He and his cousin Matt Yob were partners and owned Metro Sign Co. in Arizona.

He enjoyed hunting and loved fishing, especially deep sea fishing.
Preceding him in death was a brother Theodore Miller.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Kelli Eyman Miller of Tuscon, AZ; children David Miller of Schuylkill Haven, Melyssa Velge of Arizona and Gerald Miller of Arizona; numerous grandchildren; two brothers, Ike Miller of Schuylkill Haven, Marlin Miller Jr. of Trappe; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with his brother, Pastor Marlin Miller Jr. officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Reedsville Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Herbert E. Fincham, 81, of Minersville, formerly of Virginia, passed away on Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill – East.

Born in Culpeper, Virginia, he was a son of the late Hanry Clay Fincham and the late Lucy Ella McFarland Fincham.

He was employed as a house painter until retirement.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Ayres.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Carol McKinney; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ayres, Minersville, and Kelly Hein (spouse, Bruce), Minersville; six grandchildren, Daniel Ayres, Dakota Hein, Agnela Hein, Austin Hein, Aiden Hein and April Hein. He is also survived by a brother, Cleveland Fincham, Florida.

Services will be held at a later date in Culpeper, Virginia.
