Suspect in Murphy Homicide Taken into Custody

The woman wanted for the death of Pat Murphy has been taken into custody.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Megen Hall, 25,  wanted for second-degree murder for the death of Pat Murphy, 62, of Pottsville.

Hall surrendered to officers today with her attorney present in the2800 block of Perdido Street.

Police say on February 28, 2019, just before noon, NOPD First District officers responded to a call of an unclassified death in the 1300 block of Ursulines Avenue. Upon arrival, officers learned that staff at the location discovered an unknown white male subject lying in a bed and unresponsive. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Upon further investigation, the incident was reclassified as a homicide by cutting. Hall was initially sought as a person of interest for questioning in this investigation. However, as the investigation had progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives positively identified Hall as the perpetrator in this incident.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Hall on a charge of second-degree murder.
