Victim ID'd in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Mahanoy Township

A Mahanoy City man died in a motorcycle crash on Friday in Mahanoy Township.

According to Mahanoy Township Police Chief Brandon Alexander, around 6:45pm, Jeremy Polizzi, 39, of Mahanoy City was headed northbound on Brandonville Road (Route 339) on his motorcycle in Mahanoy Township, north of Mahanoy City when he lost control and went head on into an oncoming vehicle headed south.

Alexander said Polizzi died on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coronor David Truskowsky.

Polizzi was reported to not be wearing a helmet.

Route 339 was closed for several hours while the scene of the crash was investigated.

The driver of the other vehicle was not identified.
