Man Stabbed in Saint Clair Tuesday Morning; Police Identify Suspect

The Saint Clair Police Department is seeking help finding a man they stabbed another man Tuesday morning.


According to Chief William Dempsey, on April 9, 2019 at 11:45am, Saint Clair Police were dispatched to the 200 Block of E. Lawton Street in the Borough of Saint Clair.

Arriving on scene Police discovered a 41 year old male from Harrisburg, PA had been stabbed in the neck with a edged weapon.

The victim was treated at the scene by Police and EMS and then flown via helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

An investigation led Police to identify John Derwood “Bucky” Berger, 34 as the person who had stabbed the victim.

Berger is described as a white male, 5’6 and 165 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes.

An arrest warrant was obtained from the office of Magisterial District Justice James Reiley charging Berger with Criminal Homicide (Attempted), Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Possessing an Instrument of Crime.
