Minor Injuries Reported in Two Vehicle Crash near Lavelle on Saturday

One person suffered minor injuries in a two vehicle crash near Lavelle on Saturday.


Around 6:45pm, Saturday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Lavelle Road and Germanville Road, in Butler Township, near Lavelle for a two vehicle accident with injuries.

Lavelle Fire and Washington Ambulance responded to the scene along with Butler Township Police and assistance from Ashland Police.  Fountain Springs Fire handled traffic control.

According to Butler Township Police, a Ford Focus on Germanville Road pulled out into another Ford Focus travelling north on Lavelle Road.  The front of one vehicle struck the rear of other causing it to spin 180 degrees into a guard rail.  The occupants of the vehicle that spun did not suffer any injuries.

The vehicle traveling on Lavelle Road suffered major damage to the front of the vehicle causing the passenger side airbag to go off.  The front seat passenger suffered minor injuries, was treating at the scene and refused further treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by A&F Towing.

Lavelle Road was closed for about 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
