According to Mahanoy Township Police, the crash occurred just before 4:00pm, when the brakes failed on a SUV/Tracker on Route 924 near Turkey Run heading towards Shenandoah.
The vehicle struck two other vehicles including a school bus full of North Schuylkill kids heading home from school to the Ringtown area.
No injuries were reported but the children on the bus were transferred to a second bus to take them home.
Chief Brandon Alexander reported that the vehicle that caused the crash was not up to date on inspection.
