Terry L. Snyder, 70, of Tamaqua, PA, died on Friday, April 5, 2019 at home. He was the husband of Darlene (nee Mashall) Snyder.

Born in Coaldale, PA on February 25, 1949, Terry was a son of the late Theodore and Margaret (nee Blackwell) Snyder. He attended Tamaqua High School and then served in Vietnam during the war while a member of the Marine Corps. During his service time in the Marines from 1967 - 1972, Terry was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon (Vietnam), the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze campaign stars, the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color with palm and frame), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device, and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

He was employed as a security guard for several retail stores.

In addition to his wife Darlene, Terry is survived by daughters, Brenda Gustas and her husband Brian of Middleport, PA and Tammy Lobach and her husband Rodney of Lehighton, PA; son, Terry Snyder, Jr. of Wyomissing, PA; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Snyder and his wife Arminda of Los Angeles, CA and Randy Snyder and his wife Joanne of Barnesville, PA; sisters, Caryle Boyer and her husband Donald of Wind Gap, PA and Margaret Brode of Tamaqua.

He was predeceased by a son, Brett; a brother, Theodore; and a sister, Lynn.

A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, April 10 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Bogdan Jurczyszyn officiating. Call 6-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials in Terry’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser Avenue, Taylor, PA 18517.

Delano (Del) R. Wanamaker, 83, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, April 6th, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Del was born in Fredericksburg, PA on April 3, 1936, a son of the late Irene (Heinselman) and Woodrow Wilson Wanamaker.

He was the widower of Arlene F. (Yeich) Wanamaker.

Del was a member of Reedsville Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. Del worked as a Shipping Room Supervisor for Sylray in Orwigsburg and also as a Custodian for the Blue Mountain High School.

Del is survived by his son, Rick A. Wanamaker, husband of Kathy, Auburn and his Granddaughter Lacie A. Tome wife of Eric, Delaware.

Sister Elaine Reiter and Brother Kenneth Wanamaker.

In addition to his wife Arlene, Del was predeceased by his Grandson Jason A. Wanamaker.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13th at Reedsville Evangelical Congregational Church in Schuylkill Haven. With Rev. Mark Brooks officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:00 Am until time of service, in the church. Interment, with Military Honors, at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc. Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675-8517. Michael D. Economy, age 41, of Gilberton, passed away Wednesday.

Born at Andrews Air Force Base he was the son of Michael and Linda (Powanda) Economy.

He was a 1995 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and attended Lincoln Technical School. He had been employed with Lucent Technology in Allentown, worked as a switchman for Verizon and last worked for Jeld Wen at High Ridge Industrial Park. He enjoyed playing the guitar but his passion was for drums and began to play at eight years old. His love of music led to the formation of his band along with some friends the Hoodley Bah.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his daughter Alivia Economy who he adored and her mom Kim Souchak of Mahanoy City, a brother Jason and his wife Katrina of Lavelle and their three children Karleigh, Josie and Kensley.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation to be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.

Deacon David J. Henninger will officiate a religious service at 7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers expressions of your sympathy can be directed to his daughter Alivia.

Mary Beth (Hysock) Barlow, 59, of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday at her residence.

Born in Ashland, December 13, 1959, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha (Mehalick) Hysock.

She was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.

Mary Beth loved the outdoors, especially picking mushrooms and berries. Her family enjoyed the many meals and treats she prepared for them as she was an avid cook and baker. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Walter “Butch” Barlow.

Surviving are three daughters, Brandy Barlow, of Shenandoah, Trisha Miller and her husband, Troy, of Lykens, and Tara Barlow, of Shenandoah; two sons, Jeremy Barlow and his fiancée, Alli Caulfield, of Kulpmont, and Austin Barlow, of Frackville; four grandchildren, Aliza, Gabrielle, Brianna and Chase; three sisters, Cheryl Hysock, of Shenandoah, Patricia Alshefski and her husband, Joseph, of Zion Grove, and Cynthia L. Kluchinsky, of Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins; her female cat, Pookie.

A celebration of Mary Beth’s life will be held from 3 until 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, at 18 S. Grant St., Shenandoah.

Francis G. Schuler, 87, of Ashland,PA passed away Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at Shenandoah Manor Nursing & Rehab., Shenandoah, PA.

Born in Ashland September 18,1931 the son of the late William and Anna (Loeper) Schuler. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from Nov. 1952 to Nov.

1954 working as a disciplinary guard. He was of the Catholic Faith and worked as a coal miner and for Shoemakers Garage in Ashland. He was a volunteer fireman
at the American Hose Co., Ashland and a member of the VFW post in Ashland.

Francis enjoyed hunting, fishing, following his favorite sports teams the Eagles and Phillies and doing jigsaw puzzles, playing the lottery and reading the morning newspaper. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were four brothers and two sisters: John, William, Paul and Vincent. Sisters: Anne Spuglio and Rose Higgins. Many nieces and nephews survive.

Services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA on Thursday, April 11,2019 at 2:30 P.M. with Military Honors. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of arrangements.

Welles C. Steigerwalt, 91 years of age of West Penn Twp., Tamaqua passed away on Sunday April 7, 2019 at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr., Coaldale.

Survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Pearl R. (Malick) Steigerwalt of Golf Road Tamaqua; sons, Robert A. Steigerwalt and his wife Pauline, Dennis C. Steigerwalt and his wife Vinnett both of Tamaqua; daughter, Linda wife of Ron Snyder of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Noel, Trudyann, Audrey Lynn, Mark; three great grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Breiner wife of Richard, Fern Osenbach both of Tamaqua. Many nieces and nephews also survive Welles.

Welles, retired from the former J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills and was a farmer. He was a member of Holiness Church of Andreas.

Born in West Penn Twp the son of the late Howard, Sr. and Emma (Kemmerer) Steigerwalt. He was also predeceased by; sister, Grace Reinhart; brothers, William, Herman, LeRoy, Howard Steigerwalt, Jr.

James J. Trabosh, Sr., age 88, of Palo Alto, PA passed away Friday, April 5th, 2019 at The Gardens at York Terrace in Pottsville,.

Born in Pottsville, PA on September 23, 1930, he was the son of the late James V. and Mary (Brennan) Trabosh.

Jim was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy as a SK3 during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. Jim then worked as an Insurance Agent at the Richard B. Ryon Insurance Agency in Pottsville until retiring.

Jim was a former member of the St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon and a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville. He was a lifemember of the Phoenix Fire Company in Pottsville, a member of the Catholic War Veterans in Pottsville since 1975, a member of the Traveler Protective Association of America for 25 years, and a member of four Senior Golf Leagues. Jim coached basketball and vollyball for CYO for over 40 years and coached vollyball at Nativity B.V.M. High School for 20 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dolores "Dolly" M. (Ondeck) Trabosh, who died on October 24, 2004 and son James J. Trabosh Jr. in 2017.

Jim is survived by son George S. Trabosh and his wife Lucille, Norristown, PA; two grandsons: Stephen and Matthew Trabosh; a granddaughter Regina Trabosh; a great-grandson Lucas Trabosh; sister Jean Brennan, Pottsville; sister-in-law Tina Casey, King of Prussia; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville on Wednesday April 10th at 10AM.

At the request of Jim's family, there will be no visitation or procession from the funeral home to the church.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at the St. Stephen Cemetery in Port Carbon.

Mae K. Kauffman, 94, of Hegins, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019.

She was born on Monday, March 24, 1925, in Klingerstown, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and K. Gertrude Klinger Maurer.

She was graduate of the former Hegins Township High School, Class of 1942.

Following high school, Mae started as a bank teller for the First National Bank of Hegins, and retired after 44 years as branch manager of Meridian Bank, Hegins.

She was an active member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, and was a staple when it came to helping at many social functions held at the church hall.

She was also a member of the Tri Valley Senior Citizens, Woodmen of the World, Lodge #433 of Pitman, and the Red Hat Society. Mae was very active in card clubs throughout the valley. She spent many hours conquering jigsaw puzzles, especially during the winter months. Mae and her husband Robert enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their camper van.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Kauffman, who passed away in 2004, and sisters Ethel Maurer, Daisy Snyder, and Pauline Adams.

She is survived by a sister, Violet Stehr of Klingerstown, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Mark Swanson, pastor of Friedens Lutheran Church officiating services.

Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation that be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 375, Hegins, PA 17938.
