John David Troup, age 45, of Pottsville, PA , passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on February 24, 1974, he was the son of the late Linda May (Bowman) Troup and Dennis Lamar Troup, who survives him in Pottsville.

John attended Pottsville Schools and worked as a bartender and general laborer. He was an avid pool player and belonged to many pool leagues..

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons: Charles and John Jr.; a daughter Linda; his companion Nickey Wynn; and three brothers: Daniel, Dennis Jr. and his wife Jen, and Keith, all of Pottsville; a sister Denise Neikirk and her husband Phil, North Carolina; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home 208 Pike St. Port Carbon at 8PM on Wednesday, April 24th, with Pastor Kenton Martin officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 6-8PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private.

Joni Stickell Rutecky, 59, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday at her home.

Born in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Robert Stickell and the late Margaret Novotny Stickell. She attended Minersville schools; and worked as a certified nursing assistant, having last worked at the former Ashland Regional Medical Center, Fountain Springs. She also served as the primary caretaker in the last ten years of her Mom’s life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Stickell; a niece, Amy Lynn Martin-Heffner.

Joni is survived by two sons, Brett Rutecky, Branch Township, and Michael Rutecky, Wilkes-Barre; five grandchildren, Seth Sara and Logan Rutecky, Summer and Angel Moyer; a great-grandson, Ryan Burhop; her longtime companion, Steve Matsukawa. She is also survived by three sisters, Terry Martin, Pottsville, Wendy Stone (spouse, George), Chester, Virginia, and Cathy Groody (spouse, John), Ashland; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville on Saturday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be private in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Branch Township.

Seth Michael Knarr, 20, of Minersville, passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday morning in Northumberland County.

Born April 10, 1999 in Pottsville, he was the son of Sheila Truscott Pangaio and her husband Stephen, Minersville, and a son of Craig Knarr and his wife, Jonni, Pottsville. He was a 2017 graduate of Minersville Area High School. He was currently employed by MI Windows, Hegins. He also served as director of mechanical operations at WJM “My Shop”, Cressona, alongside his mentor Bill. He was previously employed by Renda Construction, where he worked with his beloved grandfather, Robert.

Seth was a beloved brother and independent free-spirit, who loved life and never took a day for granted. With his friends by his side, every day was a new adventure. He never looked forward, never looked back, and lived for the moment. He enjoyed wrenching on anything with wheels, off-roading with friends, and planning his next adventure. His helping and caring nature touched the hearts of those who knew him.

In addition to his parents and step-parents, he is survived by three siblings, Jayden Pangaio, Luke Knarr and Madison Legutko; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Donna Truscott, Buck Run; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Villella and her husband, Vince, Saint Clair; his paternal grandfather, Marlin Knarr and his companion, Patricia Ondisco, Schuylkill Haven; his step-father’s parents, Manny and Gloria Pangaio, Bethlehem; his step-mother’s parents, John and Joann Schuster, Pottsville. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him as well as a host of great friends.

Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 5:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 6:00 A.M. until 9:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery, Branch Township.



Seth’s contagious smile and charm will forever be etched in our memories and our hearts.
