Shenandoah Valley Seniors Selected as Semi Finalists for National Honor Society Scholarship Award

The Shenandoah Valley School District has announced that two of their Seniors are Semi Finalists for thee NHS Scholarship Award.

The school district learned that two members of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the National Honor Society Emily Demalis & Katilyn Hepler were selected as Semi Finalists for the coveted NHS Scholarship Award.

The students are but two of the 575 semifinalists who will receive scholarships amounting to $3200 each that will be used to offset the cost of higher education.

According to a media release form the school district, for nearly 100 years, NHS members have been making a difference in member schools & communities and the NHS Scholarship is the NASSP’s way of recognizing the most exceptional of these student leaders.

Recipients are chosen based on their demonstrated work to support the four pillars of the NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, & Character. Since 1946, more than $15 million in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding NHS seniors to support college access & student success.

The scholarship program is supported by the parent organization of the NHS, The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Emily is the daughter of Anthony & Judy Demalis and Katilyn is the daughter of Jason & Jennifer Hepler.
