Vacant Homes Collapse Overnight in Girardville

Two vacant homes collapsed overnight in Girardville.


At 12:35am, Tuesday morning, Girardville Fire was dispatched to the 200 Block of West Main Street, Girardville for a structural collapse.

The result was the two vacant homes at 231 and 233 Main Street collapsed in on themselves.  The roof and  and the second floor collapsed to the first floor.

A vacant home at 229 did not sustain any damage and the home at 235, which was occupied suffered minor damage including a broken window.  The occupants were home at the time.

According to Rangers Chief Frank Zangari, on April 15, 2019, he was called to the home for roofing shingles falling off during the heavy winds.  Zangari reports that code enforcement was notified about the homes.

No injuries were reported.
