Last Pig Safely Captured in West Mahanoy Township

A third pig that is believed to have been abandoned in West Mahanoy Township has been captured.

Around 8:00am, Wednesday, State Troopers received a called for pigs running down the middle of Route 924 near Brandonville, West Mahanoy Township.

The Schuylkill County Animal Response Team was called and was able to catch two of the pigs which were found to be female and pregnant.

According to SCART, the third pig, which is male was safely captured by an expert trapper around 9:00am

All three pigs, believed to be abandoned, are now at the Ruth Steinhart SPCA.
