Schuylkill County Drug Task Force Seizes over $30,000 in Meth, Heroin, and Other Drugs in Wednesday Raid

Authorities seized over $30,000 in drugs in a raid Wednesday.

On May 1, 2019, members of the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police, Pottsville Bureau of Police, Ashland Borough Police Department, Butler Township Police Department, Frackville Borough Police Department, Tremont Borough Police Department and Tower City Police Department, executed a search and seizure warrant on a residence located within the City of Pottsville.

Items of contraband were subsequently seized from the aforementioned, including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Approximately 220 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $22,000.00
  • Approximately 15 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $5,250.00
  • Approximately 300 grams of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,000.00
  • Four firearms
  • One taser
  • Items of drug paraphernalia utilized for the packaging, repackaging and ingestion of controlled substances
  • In excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of United States Currency
As a result of the search, Sheila Ann Carter, 51, of Pottsville, was charged with 4 counts of Possession With the Intent to Deliver (methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, OxyContin), 4 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, OxyContin), 4 Counts of Persons Not to Possess/Use/Manufacture, Control, Sell, Transfer Firearms, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Prohibited Offensive Weapons.

Carter was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, who set bail at $75,000.00, straight cash. Carter was then locked up Schuylkill County Prison unable to post bail.
