Elizabeth J. Miller, 87, of Woodside, N.Y passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home.
Born in New York City on September 12, 1931 the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Rae) Haxton.

Elizabeth was raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. She graduated from High School in Portobella, Scotland. She last worked as a book keeper for the NY Mets before retiring. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years: Ray "Danny" Miller, 2003. Two sisters: Janette Graham and Mabel Groat. Niece: Terry (Wilinsky) Cerino. Surviving are a sister-in-law: Beverly wife of William Fahs of Bethlehem, PA. Nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Interment at Christ Church Cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA. Viewing Thursday, May 16 at 12:00 Noon until the time of service at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc., Ashland is in charge of the arrangements. Frances M. Griggs, 74, of North Second Street, Girardville, passed away Friday May 10th, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in AshlandState General Hospital, Fountain Springs, July 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Doris Faust Halbe. She was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1963, and was employed as a sewing machine operator for the former City Shirt Company, of Frackville, until her retirement in 2009. Frances was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Girardville, now the St. Charles Barromeo Roman Church Parish of Ashland and Girardville.

Survivors

Daughter: Michelle Wetzel, Media, PA

Grandson: David and Amanda Wetzel, Ft Benning, GA

Granddaughter: Nicole Wetzel (Jason Murray), Media, PA

Great Grandchildren (Nicole): Austin Wetzel Knecht, Christian Murray, Savanna Murray.

At the request of Frances, a private burial service will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Lucille M. Ludwig, 91, of Deep Creek Road, Ashland, passed away Saturday, May 11th at her residence. Born in Valley View, March 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Schwalm Lubold. She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School, class of 1945. Lucille was a member of the Barry Salem United Methodist Church, Weishample, where she was president of the church’s Missionary group, and also a member of the Weishample Grange Hall.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Lester H. Ludwig, passing in July 2015, a son Donald, passing in 1971, and a grandson, passing in 1991.

Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Wednesday, May 15th, at 11 AM, in the Barry Salem Methodist Church. Officiating will be Chaplin Rodney Weaver, and Rev. W. Keith Rockwell, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will begin in the church at 9: AM until service.
