Explosive Device Found in Lake Wynonah on Sunday

An explosive device was found in Lake Wynonah on Sunday.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019, around 11:00am, the Schuylkill Haven barracks received a call from a Schuylkill County Dive Team reporting that they found a pipe bomb at Lake Wynonah at the rear dock marina in South Manheim Township.

The dive team was reported to be performing practice drills in the lake and discovered the pipe bomb.

The device was placed in a secure area and a safe perimeter was established.

A member of the State Police Hazardous Devices and Explosive Section was contacted, responded, and took care of the device.

The State Police did not say if they knew where the device came from.
