Body of Missing Myerstown Man Found on Appalachian Trail

The body of a missing Myerstown man was found Sunday morning in Berks County.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police, James Cramer, 56, of  Myerstown, went missing late Tuesday, July 23, 2019 after leaving his residence.

Cramer's vehicle was later found in a parking lot near the Appalachian Trail on Route 645 in Schuylkill County south of Pine Grove.

An extensive search of the trail by the Pennsylvania State Police, K9's and Aviation Unit turned up no results.

On Sunday, a search party located Cramer's body on the Appalachian Trail grounds in the area of Bethel Township, Berks County.

The death investigation was handled by troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven.
