Two Injured in DUI Related Crash near Pine Grove

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash that is said to be DUI-related earlier this week near Pine Grove.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred around 10:30pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019 on Suedberg Road, Route 443, in Pine Grove Township.

Police say Steven Dubbs, 57, of Bethel, PA was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed opposing traffic, struck an embankment head on and became airborne before coming to a final rest.

Dubbs admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages before driving.

Dubbs, as well as a passenger, Tara Dubbs, 50, were injured in the crash.

The extent of their injuries was not known but they were transported to Penn State Hershey via Pine Grove Ambulance.

DUI charges are pending the results from a blood test.

Assisting at the scene were the Suedberg Fire Department, Ravine Fire Department, and Pine Grove EMS.
