Woman Suffers Minor Injuries in Rollover Crash in Mahanoy Township

A woman suffered minor injuries after a rollover crash in Mahanoy Township on Sunday afternoon.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 1:45pm on Delano Road, in Mahanoy Township, approximately 1 mile north of the borough of Mahanoy City.

Police say Kaitlyn Miersky, 20, of Mahanoy City was reportedly travelling north at a high rate of speed on Delano Road when the crash occurred.

Miersky reportedly lost control of her Chevrolet Cavalier on a slight curve, spun and struck an embankment.  After spinning again, and striking a tree, the vehicle rolled and slid on it's roof until eventually rolling onto it's drivers side on the shoulder of the road.

Police say between slides, bounces, and rolls, the vehicle travelled approximately 335 feet.

Miersky was reported to be wearing her seatbelt and only suffered a cut on her foot.

The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.

Miersky was be cited for driving a motor vehicle at an unsafe speed.
