Man Charged with Criminal Homicide After Shooting in Gordon Early Monday

A man is facing criminal homicide charges after he shot and killed another man early Monday in Gordon.


According to court papers, Michael Grady, 36, has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person, after he reportedly fired his 12 gauge shotgun shooting Steven Joshua Molina.

The incident happened around 4:30am at Grady's home in the 600 Block of Hobart Street in Gordon.

Grady reportedly told police that he was handing the shotgun to Molina, when it fired hitting him in the neck.

Molina was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Joseph Webber.

An investigation into the incident showed that Grady was impaired to a degree of intoxication during the incident and was in sole possession of the firearm when it discharged.

Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale arraigned Grady around 4:00pm and committed him to Schuylkill County Prison with no bail.

Assisting Butler Township Police during the incident were the Pennsylvania State Police, Frackville Police, and Ashland Police.
