Tamaqua Salvation Army Fire Ruled Arson

A fire at the Tamaqua Salvation Army has been ruled arson.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on May 12, 2019 around 9:50am, the Tamaqua Fire Department responded to the Salvation Army located at 105 Broad Street for a structure fire.

The fire department quickly put out the fire and requested a State Police Fire Marshal inspect to determine a cause.

An investigation by Trooper Joseph Hall led to the finding that fire started at two point of origin in the rear storeroom which led to police ruling the fire as arson.

Hall also stated in his report that video surveillance shows nobody entered or left the building just prior to the fire.
