Ashland Man Charged With Stealing Crossbows, Rifle from Roommate

An Ashland man has been charged with stealing two crossbows and a rifle from his roommate.

According to Ashland Police Chief Gerard Daley, on July 31st, 2019 a man reported to police that two of his crossbows had gone missing from his home in the 200 Block of South Hoffman Boulevard. 

The man reportedly then seen a video on Facebook posted by a "Jay Morgan", and in the video, he is giving a tour of a home he called the "Veterans Clubhouse".  In the video, the victim could see his two crossbows that were missing.  Morgan also lived with victim on Hoffman Boulevard

The victim showed the video to Chief Daley, and Daley was able to recognize the property that is located at 154 Country Club Road near Fountain Springs in Butler Township.

In cooperation with Butler Township Police, on August 1st, 2019 Chief Daley obtained a search warrant on the residence and located both crossbows as well as a Rifle that also belonged to the victim.

After executing the warrant, Daley says Morgan reportedly deleted the original video from Facebook.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2019, "Jay Morgan" whose real name is Juston Morgan, was taken into custody and charged with felony theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm, as well as misdemeanor tampering with evidence.

Morgan was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale, Frackville, and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to posted $50,000 (10%) cash bail.
