Tractor Trailer Driver Injured in Rollover in Ashland Tuesday Morning

The driver of a tractor trailer was injured Tuesday morning in a rollover Tuesday morning in Ashland.

Around 10:30am,  emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Centre Street, near May's Drive In, for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

According to Ashland Police Chief Gerard Daley, the driver of a tractor trailer, Tarren Robinson, of South Carolina, told police that he was travelling down the hill from Centralia toward Ashland on Memorial Boulevard when he allegedly lost his brakes.

As the tractor trailer approached the intersection, Robinson attempted to turn left rolling the truck and trailer hauling a forklift onto it's right side crashing into construction site fencing in the 2100 unit block.

When police arrived at the scene, Robinson had already crawled out of the vehicle and said he was not injured.  But while talking to police, Robinson collapsed and said he was in severe pain and was transported to Geisinger in Danville via Ashland EMS.

No other injuries were reported.

PennDOT was contacted due to the truck causing large gashes in the roadway and a Pennsylvania State Police Motor Carrier Unit was contacted to investigate the truck and trailer.

Responding to the scene were the members of the Washington Fire Co., American Hose Co., Ashland EMS, and A&F Towing.
