Tri-County Cheerleaders Compete in 2nd Annual Cheer Challenge

On Saturday, Panther Valley Knee-Hi Football and Cheerleading hosted their 2nd Annual Cheer Challenge.

The event included cheer squads from the Tri-County Football League. Teams who participated were, Panther Valley, Shenandoah, Minersville, Frackville, Tamaqua, Mahanoy Area and Hazleton. Nearly 200 girls participated in the event.

During the first part of the event, participants competed as a squad and were judged on their performance which included their "Hello" cheer along with their half-time dance.

The second part of the event, participants competed individually in a "jump off". Each girl whom participated, registered before the event and paid a $2.00 fee. Those who registered, had one jump to perform their best toe touch, tuck, double hook, or hurdler.  Within each age group, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place were awarded a medal.

After the jump competition, the winners of the performance part of the competition were announced

C-Team (1st & 2nd Grade)
3rd Place - Minersville
2nd Place - Shenandoah
1st Place - Frackville

B-Team (3rd & 4th Grade)
3rd - Hazleton
2nd - Panther Valley
1st - Minersville

A-Team (5th & 6th Grade)
3rd - Hazleton
2nd - Shenandoah
1st - Frackville
