One Injured in Crash in Fountain Springs Early Sunday

One person was injured in a one-car crash in Butler Township early Sunday.


Around 6:30am, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of 611 Fountain Street, Fountain Springs for a motor vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment.

Butler Township Police said one person was injured in the crash.

The male driver reportedly was driving a Ford SUV, heading west on Fountain Street, drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver was pinned in the vehicle until emergency personnel arrived.

The victim was taken to an area hospital via ambulance.

There was no word on what caused the crash, but rain was reported to be very heavy at the time.

The Fountain Springs Fire, Englewood Fire, Lavelle Fire, Washington Rescue, Washington Ambulance, and Butler Township Police responded to the scene.

Fountain Street/Route 61 was closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
