Victim Identified in Fatal Crash Over Weekend near Ringtown

The victim in a fatal crash that occurred over the weekend in Union Township near Ringtown has been identified.


According to the State Police at Frackville, Candice Fisher, 37, of Ringtown was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred around 1:00am Sunday morning in the area of 645 Aristes Road.

Police say around 1:00am, Fisher was travelling west on Aristes Road and a second vehicle, driven by Christopher Kowalski, 38, of Ringtown was travelling east.

Police say Fisher in her Dodge Neon was negotiating a slight left turn in the roadway when for unknown reasons, drove over the right fog line onto the north shoulder of the road.

Her vehicle came back onto the roadway and began to spin counter clockwise, sliding across the double yellow line and into the path of Kowalski in a Ford Focus.

After impact, Fisher's vehicle continued to slide into a small ditch causing the vehicle flip onto it's driver's side

Fisher was reported to not be wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.

Kowalski was not injured and refused treatment and transport.

Klischer's towing removed both vehicles from the scene.

Assisting police at the scene were the Aristes Fire Company, Ringtown Fire Company, Columbia Hose Fire Company, and Shenandoah EMS.

Aristes Road was closed for approximately 2 hours in both directions while the scene was investigated and cleared.
