Woman Robbed Outside Day Care near Pine Grove Wednesday Morning; Victim Flown

A woman was reported to have been robbed outside a day care near Pine Grove Township early Wednesday.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, a 73 year old woman who works at the Little Angels Day Center  on Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township was approached by a man wearing a mask and gloves and demanded money.

When the woman told the suspect that she had none, he pushed her down, emptied her purse and ran off.

The suspect was described as being about 5 feet 7 inches tall and thin.

The victim was flown to an area hospital for unknown injuries that she suffered when she was pushed down.

The Day Care and the Pine Grove School District were put on lock down Wednesday morning but have since lifted the locked down.

Police say there is no danger to the public.
