Man Arrested and Charged for Rush Township Robbery

A man is in custody and has been charged for a September robbery in Rush Township.


According to Rush Township Police, On September 17, 2019, the Rush Township Police received a report of a robbery at One Stop convenience store at 704 Claremont Avenue.

A male suspect had taken merchandise from the clerk by force.

The investigation determined that Daniel Yurchak, 34, of Summit Hill was the offender.

Police say it was learned that he committed this crime in an effort to pay a debt owed to a drug dealer.

On November 4, 2019, Yurchak was taken into police custody and charged with Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property. Yurchak was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer, where bail was set at $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for  November 19, 2019
