North Schuylkill Shows Support for Injured Spartan

After a week of tributes this past week, after Jaden Leiby's injury, it was North Schuylkill's turn to show their support for their quarterback, teammate, and friend.

North Schuylkill had thanked the Schuylkill County community and beyond for all the signs of support that has been shown for Leiby, but on Friday night, the Spartans got to show their support as well.

Prior to the game, the right side of the Spartan decal on the player's helmet was removed and replaced with a large number 6, as well as a JadenStrong sticker.

The North Schuylkill Band played their "Tortoise and the Hare" performance in the shape of a 6 as well.

When it was time for the team to enter Spartan Stadium, the North Schuylkill Cheerleaders had create "This one is for Jaden" banner.

The Spartans brought the #6 Jersey with them and carried it to the coin toss.  They also proudly held the jersey as the National Anthem was played.

As one final show of support, the entire Spartan team went down to one knee during the first play of the game

The Spartans would go on to win the game 42-20 over Pine Grove and Assistant Coach Joe Tomtishen said in their final huddle, "We won this game for Jaden, now we win the championship for Jaden."
