Berks County Hunter Dies from Falling Out of Tree Stand

The body of a Berks County hunter was found by family members on Tuesday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Thomas Kane, 69, of Hereford, PA was found in District Township late Tuesday by family members.

Police say Kane's body was found below his tree stand.  The stand was approximately 30' up in a tree.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and Berks County Coroner's Office responded.

Kane was pronounced dead at the scene by a Berks County Deputy Coroner.  The cause of death was ruled accidental with blunt force trauma.

Assisting at the scene were the Eastern Berks and Seisholtzville Fire Companies and Bally EMS.
