Minersville Man Found Safe After Spending Night in the Woods near Saint Clair

A man from Minersville is safe after being reported missing late Wednesday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 around 9:00pm a hunter reported encountering a man, who was later said to be a 60 year old Minersville man(we won't be printing the man's name), claiming he was looking for his car which he had parked along the Burma Road.

The hunter told Police that he seemed confused and not properly dressed for the cold.

The hunter noticed a vehicle still parked along the Burma Road several hours later, after nightfall, and alerted the Saint Clair Police Department.  The State Police at Frackville was also notified and after an investigation found out that the victim was prone to repeated events where he wandered off and got lost.

A multi-agency search was conducted late Wednesday using heat seeking drones & a State Police Helicopter but were unsuccessful.

On Thursday morning, members of the Schuylkill County Jeep Alliance began searching again and located the victim around between 9:00am and 10:00am.

The victim was reported to be confused and suffering from overnight exposure to the cold, but was otherwise unharmed.

The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for evaluation.
