Shenandoah Police Recover Stolen Vehicle; Suspect in Custody After Foot Chase During Traffic Stop

Shenandoah Police recovered a stolen vehicle from Chester County early Wednesday after the suspect led officers in a foot chase during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 around 12:15am, while on patrol in the 100 block of South Main Street in Shenandoah, Police observed a tan-colored vehicle enter the Turkey Hill parking lot at 120 South Main Street.

Officers ran the Pennsylvania registration shown on the vehicle.

The PA registration then showed and NCIC/ CLEAN hit for a stolen vehicle, from Coatesville,PA, in Chester County.

Shenandoah Police Officer William Moyer and Travis Bowman stopped the vehicle at the intersection of West Cherry and South Gilbert Streets.

The male driver then opened the door and began to exit the vehicle.

Officers gave multiple verbal commands for the male to show officers his hands to get down on the ground. The male kept his hands in the air and then slammed the door shut and began to run on foot West in the 400 block of West Cherry Street.

The male was caught by officers near the intersection of South Catherine and West Oak Streets. and later identified as Tyler Keith Fountain, 25, of Coatesville, PA.

Officers had Schuylkill County Communications Center (SCCC) confirm the stolen vehicle hit with the Coatesville Police Department.

The vehicle was towed to a secure impound by Steve's Towing Shenandoah.

Fountain was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Reiley on charges of Felony 3 Receiving stolen property, Misdemeanor 2 resisting arrest and summary vehicle code violations.

Fountain was unable to post bail set at $50,000 straight and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.
