3rd Annual Bundukie Challenge Scheduled in Shenandoah

The 3rd Annual Bundukie Challenge will take place on Saturday, January, 25th, 2020.

The event will take place at the Glover's Hill Athletic Club in Shenandoah.

You may be asking yourself, What is a bundukie?  Bundukies are Lithuanian Meatballs made with pork and are popular in the coal region.

For the challenge, 20 contestants will be making 3 dozen of their best bundukies which will be judged by 10 judges.

The meatballs will be judged on taste, texture, and appearance.

Doors will open at 5:00pm with judging starting at 6:00pm.

The event is $20 a person for anyone who wants to attend and includes all you can eat and drink.

There will also be live entertainment by J.T. Thomas, a 50-50, a raffle table, and door prizes from 9:00pm until Midnight.

All the proceeds from the event benefit the William "Babe" Conroy Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship is awarded to a Senior Shenandoah Valley Baseball Player who has played all 4 years and will be continuing their education in college or technical school.

Last year, Janet Antz took home the 1st place prize.
