Sarah Morgan DeBenedict, 26, of Tamaqua, PA died on Saturday, January 25, at home. 

She was a daughter of Raymond L., Jr. and Jennifer (nee Register) DeBenedict. 

A 2011 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Sarah graduated from Penn State College of Nursing as well. Employed as an LPN, she most recently worked for Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehab. Music played a significant part in Sarah’s life, but she also loved to hike and take pictures. She was generous to a fault having a very giving nature and was quite protective of her family. 

In addition to her parents, Raymond and Jennifer, she is survived by sisters, Lauren Noecker and her husband, Sebastian of Tamaqua and Danielle McKenzie and her husband, Samuel of Stuttgart, Germany; grandmothers, Mary DeBenedict and Sherry Register; nephew, Cole Noecker; nieces, Ellie Noecker and Olivia Noecker; and several uncles and aunts. 

Both of her grandfathers, Raymond DeBenedict and Ray Register, predeceased her. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Sarah’s name may be made to the Snyder-Robinson Foundation at snyder-robinson.org.

John Billowitz, 49 of Minersville, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Minersville.

Born Tuesday, June 23, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Ilija Njamcu and Ekatarina (Chimponer) Njamcu.

Surviving are sons, Alex Billowitz and John Billowitz, brothers, Ilija Njamcu of Middle Village, NY and Peter Njamcu and his wife, Alexandera of Long Island, NY, sister, Anna Njamcu of Cleveland, OH. Many nieces and nephews also survive John

Dorothy E. Yeakel, 83, of Andreas, died Monday, January 27, 2020, in her home. She was the wife of Ronald E. Yeakel. They were married on May 14, 1960 and celebrated 59 years of marriage. 

Prior to retiring, she worked as a dental hygienist for 50 years. She worked for Dr. Willits, Reading, Parkland and Lehighton School Districts, Dr. Jewells, Tamaqua, Dr. Mlkvy, Palmerton and Dr. Vermillion, Summit Hill. Born in Andreas, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Edith (Yeck) Steigerwalt. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Lehighton High School, East Stroudsburg University and Temple University. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. 

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Derek and his wife, Catherine, of New Ringgold; three daughters, Lisa, wife of Gregory Mousseau, of Jim Thorpe, Ramona, wife of Donald Fegley, of New Ringgold, and Pamela, wife of Craig Hockman, of White Haven; two sisters, Rita Yasinsky, of Tamaqua and Catherine, wife of Edmund Flounders, of Lafayette Hills; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 260 N. 3rd St. Lehighton, with the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Lehighton. Call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30-9 a.m. Friday, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.
