John R. Wagner, Sr. passed away at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, on January 13, 2020 at the age of 88.
Born in Pottsville on January 31, 1931, he was a son of Irvin Wagner and Anna Leonard.
John graduated from Pottsville High School in 1949 and proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked in retail sales as a manager for many years and also spent time working with children in custodial settings.
During the last 19 years of his life, John enjoyed a loving and committed relationship with Carolyn Spiess, Pottsville. They took cruises to tropical places where John could enjoy the sun he worshipped throughout his life.
John had a lovely voice he liked to share with others. He was truly happy entertaining groups at senior living communities and at parties with his Karaoke equipment.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 37 years, Mary (Kocsko) Wagner on October 8, 1988; son, John R. Wagner, Jr.; sister, Mildred Starr and brothers, Irvin and Joseph Wagner.
John is survived by daughter, Anna Marie Jones Styer, and husband, Michael¬¬¬¬ Styer, of Eagle Rock, Hazelton; son, Michael I. Wagner, and wife, Leslie, of Pottsville; son, David Wagner, and wife, Nan, of York; 6 grandchildren: Kenneth and Robert Jones, John Wagner, III, Adam Wagner, Joshua and Jeremy Wagner; 3 great grandchildren; companion Carolyn Spiess and her family, especially grandsons Sean Brossman and Brandon Edelman.
A Memorial service will be held at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home on Saturday Feb. 1st at 11AM, with Rev. Chris Rotharpt officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be held private.

Leon J. Mack, 80, of Orwigsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020. He was surrounded and supported by his loving wife and daughters during the last days of his life. He spent his life as a husband, father, grandfather and Pennsylvania State Police Trooper protecting and supporting others.

Leon was born April 6, 1939 in Mahanoy City, a son of the late Leo Mack and Adeline (Swirsky) Mack and brother to Elaine Luschas, Berwick.

Leon graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1956. Upon graduating, he entered the Navy where he served as Aviation Storekeeper Petty Officer 3rd Class. After being honorably discharged in August 1961, he went to McCann School of Business. Shortly after he was accepted into the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, where he graduated in September 1967. He started his career as highway patrol in Lancaster that quickly led into working undercover vice out of Regimental Headquarters in Harrisburg all over the state of Pennsylvania. Through the years, Leon was stationed at PSP Reading, PSP Hamburg and finished his career at PSP Frackville. He was extremely proud of his State Police service and the men he served with. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Pollice and the National Troopers Coalition.

Leon leaves his wife of 48 years, Alice (Vockie) Mack, his daughters, their spouses and his grandchildren: Karen wife of Mike Bolich, children Abigail, Allison and Emma; Lisa wife of Guy Robinson, children Guy Jr. and Madeline; Pamela Mack; Denise wife of Dan Heim children Darren, Dawson and Deanna.

An evening visitation will be held at Hamilton- Breiner Funeral Home, Inc., Orwigsburg from 6p to 8p on Wednesday,January 29th.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am, Thursday,.January 30th, at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, public invited to call from 9:15 to 10:15 at the church. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Ambrose Church, 201 Randel Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 or the American Cancer Society, 101 West Frack Street, Frackville, PA 17931 in memory of Leon J. Mack.

Raymond O. Gaston, 81, of Pine Grove, formerly of Pinebrook, Orwigsburg, passed away at Friday, January 24th, at his residence, with his wife Ruth by his side.

Ray was born in East Brunswick Township, on November 26, 1938, a son of the late Eva S. (Sterner) and Oliver F. Gaston.

He was the husband of Ruth Mary (Loy) Gaston. They were marred September 20, 1958. He was a 1957 Blue Mountain High School Graduate and earned his bachelor Degree from Temple University.

He served in the U.S. Marines and was employed as a Horticulture Teacher for South Vo-Tech IU 26. During his life Ray worked for F.W. Woolworth, Atlas Powder Co., Koch’s Lawn & Garden Inc., and co owned Gaston Flower Garden with Ruth, his wife.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Orwigsburg, Orwigsburg Lions Club, United Cerebral Paley, Sch Co Agricultural Extension Service, Sch Co. Fair Assoc., Foundation for Agricultural and Resource Management and Ray was also PineBrook HOA past President. In addition to Ruth, his wife of 61 years, He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews

He was predeceased by his brother Richard Gaston.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1st at St. John's United Church of Christ in Orwigsburg, PA. Call from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Flowers are accepted and also memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ 236 East Market Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. is honored to be serving the family.

Luz E. Morales, 65, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away January 21st in Massachusetts

Luz was born in Puerto Rico, December 26, 1954, a daughter of Elma Mena, Hershey and the late Manuel Morales.

Luz was a retired home health care aide.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her four children, Clary Baez Cooledge and her husband Ben, Massachusetts; Hector Baez, Massachusetts; Santo Baez, New York and Edwin Maldonado, Pennsylvania; Sister, Awilda Rosado, Harrisburg; brother, Julio Morales, Hershey; two nieces, Ileis Morey, Millersburg; Emma Souder, Pennsylvania and a nephew, Julio Vazquez, New York City.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 2nd at 2:00pm from the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt. The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., has been entrusted with the arrangements.
